Kaka’ako Street Art

April 26, 2018 by Roxy

It seems like every time I go home to Hawai’i, which is about once a year, there’s always something new. It’s bittersweet because part of me wants things to stay as they were, but exciting because those things were never there when I was growing up. This past March, I met up with some friends at SALT Kaka’ako – a city block of restaurants and shops…

Wiliwilinui Ridge Trail on O’ahu, Hawai’i

April 18, 2018 by Roxy

This past trip home to Hawai’i, I got to hike the Wiliwilinui (pronounced willy-willy-nu-eee) Trail. I’ve never really been a big outdoorsy person, but I love hiking in Hawai’i. Every view is amazing, but I am a little biased. 😉 I do have a couple favorite hikes, like Koko Head and Lanikai Pillbox, but I try to do hikes I haven’t done before. Wiliwilinui is located…

Why A Little Island Girl From Hawai’i Is A NE Patriots Fan

February 4, 2018 by Roxy

I love football. Not so much that I know a ridiculous amount of stats or to call plays – hell I don’t even like playing Madden – but I love football. I just love the game. I love how emotionally invested the diehard fans are. I love the rivalries, the trash talk. I especially love when the New England Patriots pull of those flea flickers. I…

All Inclusive Stay at the Sunset Marina Resort in Cancun

January 13, 2018 by Roxy

The first 2 days of my Mexico trip, we spent in Tulum and the last 2 1/2 I spent in Cancun with my girl, AE. She booked the Sunset Marina Resort for the two of us and it’s an all inclusive resort! I’ve never stayed at an all inclusive before and as much as I loved the casita at Papaya Playa Project, I was so happy…

Staying at Papaya Playa Project in Tulum, Mexico

December 29, 2017 by Roxy

Papaya Playa Project (aka PPP) is a 100 room boutique hotel located right on the beach in Tulum, Mexico. Owned by Design Hotels, the hotel was constructed with the intention that its guests experience being a part of nature – and they definitely did that. Walking to the cabanas felt like walking through the jungle and on the first night, we could hear the waves of the…

Enchant Christmas Light Maze at Globe Life Park

December 27, 2017 by Roxy

Enchant Christmas is the world’s largest outdoor Christmas light maze at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas. It is the first time they’ve brought it out to Texas and I heard about it from one of my good friends while we were hanging out on Christmas Day. I didn’t get to go home to Hawai’i for the holidays this year and hadn’t really been feeling the…

The Denver Art Museum & The Star Wars Costume Exhibit

December 23, 2017 by Roxy

Star Wars and the Power of the Costume exhibit was held at the Denver Art Museum from November 13th, 2016 – April 9, 2017. I went to visit Denver back in February and never got around to posting it until now. The exhibit was a self-guided tour, and although I’m neither a Star Wars fan nor a fashionista, I couldn’t help but appreciate the detail and…

Exploring Cenote Dos Ojos

December 19, 2017 by Roxy

After visiting Chichen Itza our next stop was Cenote Dos Ojos about 22 km or 13 mi north of Tulum. Cenotes (pronounced si-no-te) are natural sinkholes that were formed when the limestone collapsed and exposed the groundwater. They’re usually associated with the Yucatán peninsula of Mexico – there are over 6000 cenotes in that area alone! Cenote Dos Ojos means ‘Two Eyes Cenote’ and it’s named…

Visiting the Mayan Ruins of Chichen Itza

December 17, 2017 by Roxy

I spent this past Thanksgiving weekend with 3 of my friends in Tulum and Cancún, Mexico. Before this trip, I had only been to Puerto Peñasco (aka Rocky Point) so I was super excited to go! I was pretty much open to doing anything while we were out there, as usual, but I really wanted to see the ancient ruins of Chichen Itza. We spent our…

YOTEL Boston Review | Boston Seaport

November 5, 2017 by Roxy

The YOTEL Boston   I did my first solo trip and had my first visit to Boston for the first time last September and before going, I really had no idea where to stay. A few friends have told me that I’d be fine almost anywhere since the city is so walkable. Before settling on two hotels, I checked Airbnb but didn’t see anything in my…
